Our History

The mid-1970s were an exciting time in the Arab region. Oil revenues were up, and the region was in the midst of an economic boom. However, getting around the Middle East by air was difficult. Flights were few, hampering business travelers. The late King Hussein and Royal Jordanian executives, however, were inspired to create a business jet subsidiary in 1975 which was called Gulf Wings.

Following its first flight on May 19, 1975, Gulf Wings set the standard for executive jet charter services. All Arab countries were able to participate in this new venture, contributing to its success. In 1978, Gulf Wings began a medical evacuation program. Flying to both Arab and European destinations, this humanitarian arm of the company raised its profile and honed its skills. Over the years, Gulf Wings has anticipated and responded to the changing needs of business travelers by expanding its fleet and services. Today, Gulf Wings is an independent entity, owned by the International Wings Group and manages a large fleet of modern executive jets.
